It’s well thought of that in each Greek hamlet every resident voted on issues concerning the populus.
Archeologists have uncovered many of the meeting areas these votes were thought to be cast at.
However, with an American population of over 305 million people, spanning 2.3 billion acres that’s not tough, it’s impossible.
In this, our digital world of online social networking, would it then not be possible to have every citizen vote on nearly everything concerning us through one such social network?
I understand the legitimacy and security issues. The website could be hacked, etc.
BUT: it could be possible.
Instead of this Representational Democracy Government we have, where lobbyist have jobs at all and we hear screaming about special interests groups daily, let every person vote, on everything.
Thoughts?
She’s asking me to make out and he’s over here talking about chlorophyll! More like Bore-o-Phyll. Great post E, I think every person voting on every issue would be fantastic. Instead of commie politicians and elitist sharks making the decisions for us(which usually have nothing to do with the “will of the people”) we could all have a say and come to a consensus. Believe it or not, I think America would be much more conservative than we see now if it were that way. God bless!
